Welcome to WikiMap Linz,

the interactive, virtual city map!

WikiMap Linz invites Linz residents and visitors alike to jointly create a virtual diary of our city. This project offers an opportunity to design individual, artistic, associative, historical or even visionary images of the City of Linz

In WikiMap Linz, you can input your contributions and narratives in the form of texts, images and sounds directly to any location you select on the city map. Previous entries can be accessed via keywords. Enter your posting under one of the previously existing keywords or project titles (for example, Landstraße in the 1970s); that way, users get a better overview of all the entries and have an easier time searching for entries related to the topics they're interested in.

Thus, the flair and quality of the WikiMap Linz virtual city map depends on the active, creative participation of its users!

Those interested in carrying out elaborate group projects and/or artistic projects should definitely register their projects in advance with WikiMap Linz.

Everyone is cordially invited to participate, but there are a couple of WikiMap rules to keep in mind:
- Postings should be designed in such a way that they appeal to others.
- Please avoid derogatory personal remarks, racist slurs or any other illegal content!
The WikiMap Webmaster reserves the right to immediately remove such postings and requests that WikiMap users report postings that do not comply with the WikiMap netiquette rules.

Join in and use WikiMap Linz as your metropolitan transmission platform!

Ars Electronica's WikiMap staff wishes you an enjoyable and rewarding experience designing Linz's new virtual cityscape!
